Highslide JS Uncut Magazine with free CD featuring "Saint" by Ian Hunter!
The "Rocks Off" covermount CD included with the December 2012 issue of Uncut magazine includes "Saint" from Ian's "When I'm President" album. The magazine states that 'At 73, the ex-Mott The Hoople man is still doing his best to grow old as disgracefully as possible, on a raw, old-fashioned stomper, which finds him hymning the rock'n'roll life as pasionately as he did half a century ago.' A 1972 cover version of "All The Young Dudes" by Mickey from Argentina has recently surfaced, bringing the total of ATYD cover versions to 77! More info

Highslide JS CASINO STEEL - "Past The Point Of No Return" - new CD and magazine!
The October 2012 edition of Norway Rock Magazine is dedicated to Casino Steel who is celebrating 40 years as an artist.

The magazine also comes with a free 19 track compilation CD (pictured right) covering Casino Steel's career from 1973 - 2012, including collaborations with Ian Hunter ("My Revolution") and Mick Ronson ("Heroine").

WILLE AHNBERG - "3000 Miles From Here"
For his second solo album "Ett Uns Nåd", released in May 2012, long time Ian Hunter fan Wille Ahnberg has recorded a Swedish language version of "3000 Miles From Here" entitled "Tre Ljusår Härifrån". The album was produced by Sven Lindvall. More info

Ian Hunter's new album "When I'm President" was released on 3 Sep 2012 by Proper Records in England/EU, Slimstyle in USA and Universal in Norway. According to the press release, the new album has eleven Hunter originals include such infectious, personally charged numbers as the wry, socially conscious title track, the gently introspective 'Fatally Flawed' the bittersweet ballad 'Black Tears,' the chugging rocker 'Wild Bunch,' the swaggering 'I Don't Know What You Want' (which features a guest vocal by Hunter's son Jesse) and the vivid, haunting 'Ta Shunka Witco (Crazy Horse)' — all of which showcase the jagged immediacy of Hunter's one-of-a-kind voice and the punchy authority of his longstanding all-star backup combo the Rant Band. IAN HUNTER - "From the Knees of My Heart - The Chrysalis Years 1979-1981" - new box set! Highslide JS
Due for release on 22 Oct 2012 by EMI/Chrysalis is this 4CD box set which documents Ian's time with Chrysalis label from 1979 to 1981. As well as the three Chrysalis albums "Your Never Alone With A schizophrenic", "Short Back 'n Sides" and "Welcome To The Club", there's some previously unreleased stuff - some outtakes, live at Dr Pepper, plus some tracks from the "Long Odds and Outtakes" CD. Definitely not one to be missed! More info

MEDICINE HEAD - new CD re-issues!
"Heavy On The Drum" and "Dark Side Of The Moon", the second and third Medicine Head albums respectively, have been re-issued by Talking Elephant Records in UK. They have previously only been available as Japanese imports. More info

STEVE HOGARTH - "All The Young Dudes"
Marillion frontman Steve Hogarth recorded a live version of "All The Young Dudes" in Gibraltar back in 2006. The complete Gibraltar show was released three years later, available as mp3 and FLAC downloads from his website. More info

TRACIE HUNTER - "3000 Miles From Here"
Tracie's version of "3000 Miles From Here" are included on her new album "Vasilisa". A pre-release edition was first sold at gigs in September 2011, and is now available to order from Tracie's website. The album also includes "Junkman", a duet with Joe Elliott (plus Ian Hunter on backing vocals). More info

Highslide JS TRACIE HUNTER - "Junkman" - new mp3 single featuring Ian Hunter!
Tracie Hunter has recorded "Junkman" as a duet with Joe Elliott from Def Leppard, plus Ian Hunter on backing vocals. The song was originally recorded by Genya Ravan and Ian Hunter in 1979. "Junkman" is the first (digital) single from Tracie's forthcoming album "Vasilia" and it also features Phil Collen on guitar. More info

BAD COMPANY - "Live At Wembley" - new CD/DVD/Blu-Ray!
Bad Company's concert at London's Wembley Arena from April 2010 is now available on CD, DVD and Blu-Ray. Three of Bad Company's 2010 UK shows and eight from USA are also available as official bootlegs from 'Concert Live' and 'Abbey Road Live', respectively. More info DVD | More info CDs

A covers band called 'Saturday Night At The Movies' have recorded versions of songs from two Ricky Gervais movies, "The Invention Of Lying" and "Cemetary Junction". The latter movie originally featured David Bowie's version of "All The Young Dudes". More info

THE WINTER OLYMPICS - "The Great Outdoors" - mp3 only single!
Luther Grosvenor plays lead guitar on "The Great Outdoors", the third mp3 only single by The Winter Olympics. The band has also made a video of the song available on YouTube, filmed in the studio when Luther recorded his solo! More info

BOX OF FROGS - re-issue CDs with bonus tracks!
Cherry Red specialist label Esoteric Recordings issued remastered editions "Box Of Frogs" (Esoteric ECLEC2253) and "Strange Land" (Esoteric ECLEC2254) on 28 Feb 2011. The band comprised former Yardbirds members Chris Dreja, Paul Samwell-Smith and Jim McCarty who were joined by former Medicine Head and British Lions guitarist and vocalist John Fiddler. Three single B-sides have been added as bonus tracks: "X-Tracks", "Nine Lives" and "I Keep Calling". Sadly "20/20 Vision" which is only available on the USA cassette etition of "Strange Land" are not included. More info

Highslide JS HUGO & LUIGI - "Rockabilly Party" inspired "Roll Away The Stone"!
The spoken dialogue found in "Roll Away The Stone" was first used in the song "Rockabilly Party", recorded by Hugo (Peretti) & Luigi (Creatore) in 1957. The first verse of the song has the boy/girl dialogue of 'Theres a Rockabilly party on saturday night / are you gonna be there, etc etc', and the second verse is just a listing of all the artists they plan to play at the party. Ian Hunter's spoken word lyric is almost word for word identical to Hugo & Luigi's version! More info

Nigel Benjamin has finally completed his new solo album "In The Absence Of God" after nearly two years in the making. I don't know when a CD edition will be available, but Nigel has made the full album available for online streaming. More info

ROBERT HART: XBAD COMPANY - "Live In Concert at Hampton Beach" - mp3 only album!
A previously unreleased Bad Company live recording from 21 July 1995 have just been released as a digital only download. But the concert from the "Company Of Strangers" tour is wrongly credited to Robert Hart's XBad Company, and "...was recorded in August 2007, giving all fans the chance to hear XBad Company rock their way through a set full of Bad Company classics". Betty Blue from Holland covered "All The Young Dudes" for a live album in 1997 and WaveGroup supplied the version that features on the "Guitar Hero : Aerosmith" music video game from 2008, now available for download from iTunes and Amazon. More info

IAN HUNTER - "Long Odds & Out-Takes" - mp3 only album!
The bonus CD from the 1994 re-issue of Ian Hunter's 1981 album "Short Back N' Sides" was made available as a digital download album in June 2006. What's more, it is still available for download! More info

GEORGA - "Roll Away The Stone"
The Swedish one-man band Georga released a 2CD set called "Primary Rock Street" on his own label in June 2009 and "Roll Away The Stone" is one of many covers included. Georga aka George Gustafsson was a former member of the punk-popers 23Till. More info

Highslide JS SISTERS EUCLID feat. Sandy Dillon & Ray Majors - "96 Tears" CD!
Sisters Euclid from Toronto recorded an album with support by Sandy Dillon and Ray Majors in Bremen in late November 2006, but it's release was delayed until 2010, when German label Tradition & Moderne finally issued it! The album is called "96 Tears" and both Ray and Sandy are credited on the cover, and rightly so, because they both feature heavily on the album. More info

I have added 15 transcription discs featuring Medicine Head songs. I still need copies of most of them for my collection. Get in touch if you can help out. Some have sold for more than £200 on eBay! More info

JOHN FIDDLER - "You Can Be In My Dream" - new CD!
Released in October 2010, "You Can Be In My Dream" is a limited edition of 100 signed copies exclusive to the www.john-fiddler.com website. The 10-track CD has a recording of a show John played 06 June 2009 at a place called "Fiddler's Dream" in Phoenix, Arizona. More info
